I read a lot of old posters put by classmates. I feel same to a large extent. So here i wanna share some different feelings I have about agriculture, and especially agriculture in China. And my point here is that agriculture communication is urgently needed in China.
It's barely hard to image a university like UIUC would exist in China, I mean, totally in countryside. Professors wanna go metropolitan, so do students. Rich people choose to live in cities where utilities are complete and modern.Children seldom know how the rice is produced and how poultry is raised. Agriculture is associated with poverty, inferior and low-intellectual. I feel bad about it and feel ashamed it a common phenomenon in China. However, China is a country with 1.4 trillion people, 70% of which are farmers. Agriculture is the supporting industry in China, at least in a long period. Through the contrast, I feel it imperative to let more people know about agriculture, not only about nutrition contained in products, but also the most normal but greatest people behind it; not only about the new agriculture techniques which are improving our life quality, but also about the role agriculture is playing is never less important than manufacture or commercial. This may feel like a government propaganda, but it does come from my deep heart. I wish the unfair social stratification could change and the ugly discrimination towards agriculture and farmers could end one day. I strongly believe that agriculture communication is ganna change the destiny of agriculture industry as well as trillions of farmers. It's definitely a meaningful thing to do.
