Brain Connections

Different associations or seemingly unrelated things that your brain somehow connects is definitely an interesting topic. I have to say I haven't experienced Synaesthesia in the way it was described from the video, but one thing I can make connections with are smells. Certain smells will bring me back to a specific place in time. For example, any time I smell the Cucumber Melon lotion fragrance from Bath and Body Works, I think about a trip to New Orleans I made in high school. I remember having that lotion on the trip, and since then it always brings me back to that trip if I smell that particular lotion. Another example would be certain outdoor smells (like in the woods/hiking), which will often make me think about being at a summer camp when I was a child. Something that I haven't thought about in years could be remembered in an instant just based on a smell.
