One business that caters to the rural sector is HughesNet, a high-speed, satellite Internet provider. You can see from the picture (taken from their website) that they want to target that rural customer, who may not be able to get service from typical internet providers. Their website states that the #1 reason to use them is "It's available where ever you live." The website also states, "super-fast, always-on, satellite Internet access is ready when you are – no dialing in, no waiting, and no tied-up phone lines." The reason I know about this company is because my Dad lives in rural North Carolina. The typical internet providers would not service him since he is far outside the city limits. However, HughesNet was able to deliver, even with his rural address. http://www.hughesnet.com/residential-satellite-internet/why-hughesnet.cfm
