medical alarm for elders living in rural areas

This mini homework reminded me of a story of a medical device for elders in rural part of Korea that I watched on TV in Korea. I'm not sure if we can say it perfectly fits to media technology, but slightly. The TV program showed/introduced a medical device that elders can use at home in rural parts, and it's usage. If elders wanted to install this devide in their houses, people will visit their houses and stick the device on the wall in the house. I don't remember exactly how the device recognized problems with elders' bodies, but when it notices something wrong in elders' bodies, it informs it to their sons and daughters living in urban areas, and it also calls a hospital nearby. The reason of inventing this device was quite manifest - to help old people living far from medical SOS, and better cater to their needs.
